THE 2010 LOUISIANA LEGENDS GALA SET FOR MAY 6

LPB Friends of LPB will honor this year’s Louisiana Legends on May 6 at the Old State Capitol. The 2010 honorees are Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist James Burton, former State Education Superintendent and businessman Louis Michot, arts activist Marjorie Morrison, NBA legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Willis Reed, and former Governor and Congressman Buddy Roemer.

MAKING THE GRADE L.E.A.P.TUTORIALS AVAILABLE ONLINE

There are two ways for parents and students to get free help in studying for the State L.E.A.P. Tests. You can visit the LPB website and see the Making the Grade created by LPB and the State Department of Education. The lessons cover Fourth Grade Language Arts and Mathematics and Eighth Grade Language Arts and Mathematics.

If you live in the Baton Rouge or Lafayette areas and have digital cable, you can view the videos in the On Demand section of Cox Digital Cable. To access these programs, click on the On Demand button on your remote. When the menu comes up, click on “Freezone” and the menu for free programming will come up. Click on “LEAP” and then choose the section you want to review. You must have the Digital Tier of Cox Cable to access the On Demand programs.

EARTH DAY SCREENING

LPB LPB will host a special free screening of the American Experience documentary Earth Days at the Old State Capitol on Sunday, April 18 at 2PM as part of the Louisiana Earth Day Celebration in Downtown Baton Rouge. Come join us for the screening and all of the great activities, food and music during Earth Day.
