Tonight at 8, we have the history of Earth Day on the American Experience. That’s followed by an encore showing of Forever LSU, the 150-year history of Louisiana State University, at 10.

On Tuesday, NOVA (7PM) shows California’s efforts to develop new forms of energy followed by the LPB documentary Return to the Forest Where We Live at 8. It showcases the importance of urban forest to our cities.

On Wednesday at 7, Through a Dog’s Eyes shows the unique relationship between service dogs and their masters.

Get a wrap-up of the week’s events at the Louisiana Legislature on Louisiana: The State We’re In on Fridays at 7 and Sundays at 2PM and get daily weekday updates on Capitol Beat at 6:57 and 9:57PM and mornings at 6:25 during the session.

IT’S YOUNG HEROES WEEK

LPB LPB and the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge honor the eight winners of this year’s Louisiana Young Heroes Awards on Wednesday. Our 15th group of Young Heroes is another inspiring collection of young people who have served their communities, overcome adversity and inspirited everyone around them. THE 2010 LOUISIANA LEGENDS GALA SET FOR MAY 6

LPB Friends of LPB will honor this year’s Louisiana Legends on May 6 at the Old State Capitol. The 2010 honorees are Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist James Burton, former State Education Superintendent and businessman Louis Michot, arts activist Marjorie Morrison, NBA legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Willis Reed, and former Governor and Congressman Buddy Roemer.

LPB ART ROCKS!

LPB Check out our booth at Fest-For-All in Downtown Baton Rouge on May 1st and join us for Art Rocks! at the State Museum on North Fourth Street from 4:00 to 6:00PM that same day to see all of the great art donated for this year’s LPB Art & Travel Auction. There will be performances by guitarist John DeChiaro and a performance by Cangelosi Dance Project, performance art, food and spirits, and more. Admission is free and everyone is invited.

Friends is also raffling off a 2010 G&C Honda Metropolitan Scooter. Tickets are $5 each with all proceeds going to support programming on LPB.
