PROGRAMMING NEWS:

LPB

We’ve got Motown and Macbeth on tap as we head into March.

On Tuesday at 8, In Performance at the White House features an all-star lineup including the legendary Smokey Robinson. (Did you know that his real name is William?)

On Wednesday starting at 7PM, we have encore showings of three episodes of Pioneers of Television highlighting Science Fiction, Westerns and Crime Dramas.

On Thursday, Chef John Folse cooks squab at 7PM. And the question of the week is: Will Doc and Louisa actually make it to the altar on Doc Martin at 9PM.

On Sunday at 8PM, Sir Patrick Stewart stars in a modernized version of Shakespeare’s classic play Macbeth on Great Performances. I can assure you the general does not get beamed up at any time during the program.

READ THE CAT IN THE HAT THIS WEDNESDAY

LPB We hope that schools, daycares and other groups will join in the fun on March 2nd as LPB and LAE sponsor Read Across Louisiana, part of Read Across America.

We are asking teachers, parents, grandparents and other interested parties to their child’s school or daycare and read Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat to the class at 10AM that day. Of course, we chose The Cat in the Hat because of our popular new children’s program The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! March 2nd is the day we do this because that would have been Dr. Seuss’ (Theodore Geisel) 107th birthday.

Every class that participates is eligible for drawing for a visit by The Cat in the Hat to their school. We also encourage everyone to upload their activities from that day to our Facebook event page.
