LPB WINS TWO NETA AWARDS

LPB LPB received two awards from the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) for its programs.

Return to the Forest Where We Live, our documentary about the importance of urban, win top honors for outreach. Our co-production with sister station WLAE, Fats Domino: Walkin’ Back to New Orleans won for best historical documentary. Congratulations to everyone involved!

NORTHWEST LOUISIANA & TEXAS VIEWERS: RESCAN YOUR CHANNELS

Now that we have completed the transmitter upgrade and more than doubled our power for KLTS, we are asking people who have been having difficulty getting us over the air or know somebody who has had trouble picking us up with an antenna to rescan their channel menu and try us again.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO NOMINATE A DESERVING STUDENT FOR THE 2010 LOUISIANA YOUNG HEROES AWARDS

LPB February 5 is the deadline for submitting nominations for the 2010 Louisiana Young Heroes Awards. Any Louisiana student or homeschooler in grades 7-12 is eligible. We are looking for young people who have excelled in the classroom, served their community, overcome adversity or inspired others. Nomination forms are available at all public middle and high schools, public libraries or online at www.lpb.org/heroes. You can also use the online form.

The awards are co-presented by the Baton Rouge Rotary and underwritten by ExxonMobil and Credit Union of Baton Rouge, Inc. The winners will be announced on the air March 5th.

CELTIC WOMAN: SONGS FROM THE HEART CONCERT –

LPB Thursday, January 28 at 7PM - Citiplace Barnes & Noble - "Myths about the Old West" is the topic and will include a discussion about the American Experience documentary Wyatt Earp. - LSU History Professor Dr. Charles Shindo, an expert on the American West, will be the guest speaker.
