LPB AND CARENCRO HIGH WIN NATIONAL AWARD
LPB and the Academy of Information Technology at Carencro High were honored with a My Source Education Innovation Award from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting on Saturday in Washington, D.C.
The My Source Education Innovation Awards recognize and showcase how public broadcasting stations and their community partners use pioneering approaches and emerging digital technologies to serve the educational needs of their communities on-air, online and in the classroom.
LPB has partnered with Carencro High School's Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) and the Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) to conduct youth-generated public media experiments over a high-speed fiber optic network. During their virtual collaboration, the youth presented digital media projects they'd created, ranging from environmentally conscious video games to 3-D visualizations for their future workspaces.
