Tonight at 7, Antiques Roadshow continues its visit to Biloxi.

On Tuesday at 7, there is a repeat of the Masterpiece production of South Riding, followed by Black in Latin America’s look at Mexico and Peru. Frontline (9PM) looks at the current state of the battle against the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Secrets of the Dead (Wednesday at 7PM) looks at the myths surrounding Atlantis while NOVA (8PM) reexamines Stonehenge.

On Thursday at 7, Chef John Folse is cooking woodcock and snipe. At 9, it’s the final episode of series 4 of Doc Martin. If you missed any of the episodes, the entire series will run again starting June 16 at 8PM. We will be airing Season 5 when it becomes available.

Get a wrap up of the week’s events at the Legislature on Louisiana: The State We’re In at 7PM.

On Sunday at 7PM, a scientist gets up close to the black bears of Alaska on Nature followed by part three of South Riding at 8. At 9, it’s an encore showing of Native Waters: A Chitimacha Recollection at 9.

THE LOUISIANA LEGENDS GALA & AUCTION WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!

LPB Thanks to everyone who supported LPB by attending the Louisiana Legends Gala on Thursday. As always, it was a great party as we honored Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning composer Bill Conti, retired Lt. General Russel Honoré, Lake Charles philanthropist Laura Leach, Shreveport businessman and philanthropist Norman Kinsey, and former LSU and St. Louis Cardinal football player and LSU Coach Jerry Stovall.

Special thanks to Secretary of State Tom Schedler for letting us use the Old State Capitol, and our Gala Stars: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, CHRISTUS Health, Acadian Ambulance, Chesapeake Energy Corporation, James Davison Family, Louisiana Lottery Corporation, Roy O. Martin Lumber and the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana.

Look for the Louisiana Legends Gala 2011 television program on Thursday, June 23 at 7PM on LPB.

FREEDOM RIDERS SCREENING

LPB We will be holding a special preview screening of the American Experience’s new documentary Freedom Riders this Sunday, May 15 at 4PM at Second Baptist Church located at 914 N. Acadian Thruway West. This is the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights caravan that tried to travel from Washington to New Orleans but never made it past Jackson, Mississippi after their buses were destroyed. If you can’t make the free preview, watch the show on Monday, May 16 at 8PM on LPB.

LPB Friends of LPB is seeking artists to be a part of The 2011 LPB Art & Travel Auction, which will be held Sunday, October 23rd. Art works donated for the auction will be on exhibit at the Louisiana State Museum in downtown Baton Rouge, September 30th through October 15th. The Preview Party and Opening Reception, LPB Art Rocks, will be held from 7 to 9PM on Friday, September 30th. Donor Agreements and artworks must be received at LPB by Thursday, June 30th.
