I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! We are starting our first full week of the Winterfest membership campaign. If you are not a member, please consider joining LPB. If your membership is expiring, please renew it. We need your support now more than ever.

On Tuesday at 7, tax expert Ed Slott will be live in the studio to tell you how to lower your taxes.

On Wednesday, we celebrate the state’s French heritage with Mon Cher Camarade at 7, Lafayette: The Lost Hero at 8:30 and Against the Tide: The History of the Acadian People at 10.

On Thursday, we celebrate two of the finest marching bands in the country. At 7. The Golden Band of Tigerland chronicles the history of the LSU from its humble beginnings in 1893 to the present. At 8, Southern: The Human Jukebox tells the history of the Southern University Band. LPB’s Dorothy Kendrick produced both shows.

On Saturday at 8, international singing star Andrea Bocelli and master producer David Foster celebrate the holidays with a new Great Performances special.

On Sunday, former Celtic Woman Orla Fallon takes center stage for a Celtic Christmas at 7 followed by an encore showing of Sherlock: A Study in Pink on Masterpiece Mystery!

DON’T MISS A VERY MONKEY CHRISTMAS ON DECEMBER 4TH!

LPB Join Friends of LPB on Saturday, December 4 for A Very Monkey Christmas with Curious George at the Red Stick Farmers Market on Main Street in downtown Baton Rouge. The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Children will be able to take pictures with Curious George for a $5 donation to LPB.

The special guests at the event will be Kids Dish (the new name for Kids Soup) cooks Stephanie Riegel and Tracey Koch who will demonstrate how to prepare healthy holiday snacks.

LPB BOOKFAIR AT BARNES & NOBLE ON SUNDAY

LPB Join LPB and the Citiplace Barnes & Noble in Baton Rouge for a special bookfair on Sunday, December 5. Governor Bobby Jindal will be on hand to sign copies of his new book Leadership and Crisis at 3PM. Mention LPB when you check out and Friends of LPB will receive a portion of the sale. Hope to see you Sunday!

TICKETS ARE GOING FAST FOR TWO UPCOMING CELTIC WOMAN CONCERTS!

LPB Your contributions to LPB can get you great tickets for the February 14 Celtic Woman Concert at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre in New Orleans and the May 14th concert at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City. The tickets will be thank you gifts during Orla Fallon’s Celtic Christmas on Sunday, December 5 and Celtic Woman: Songs from the Heart on Sunday, December 12 at 6PM.
