Tonight, world known photographer CC Lockwood will be live in LPB's studios as we air his 1977 film Atchafalaya: America's Largest River Basin Swamp on LPB starting at 7PM. This film brought national attention to the Atchafalaya Basin. CC can update us on what has changed in the Basin in the last 35 years.

Tuesday night at 7, LPB will air two episodes of Bringing it Home with Laura McIntosh. Chef Laura will be in LPB's studios along with her guest - both in the studio and on her series - our own Chef John Folse. Learn some seafood cooking techniques, plus get some ideas for your Christmas menu.

Against the Tide: The History of the Acadian People always gets lots of compliments when we air it - so we will present it Wednesday at 7PM. Trace four centuries of triumph and tragedy as the Acadian culture evolves into Cajun culture.

Thursday night at 7, Benedict Cumberbatch, as Masterpiece's modern day Sherlock Holmes, seeks the truth about a monstrous creature that apparently killed his client's father in The Hounds of Baskerville.

It wouldn't be Friday night without LPB's Louisiana: The State We're In at 7PM. Hear the Louisiana news that affects our great state.

Saturday at 6PM, relive moments from The Lawrence Welk Show in Lawrence Welk: Precious Memories. Then LPB presents four full hours of Doo Wop - first with Doo Wop Love Songs at 8, followed by Rock, Pop & Doo Wop at 10.

Sunday, Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne will be in LPB's studios as we premiere Sunshine by the Stars: Celebrating Louisiana Music at 7PM. See Harry Connick, Jr., Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Country star Tim McGraw, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jerry Lee Lewis, Blues legend Buddy Guy, Cajun singer/songwriter Zachary Richard, The Zion Harmonizers, Mickey Gilley, Irma Thomas, Buckwheat Zydeco and the Marsalis family for many different versions of Louisiana's state song,“You Are My Sunshine.”

WE WANT TO HONOR INSPIRING LOUISIANA STUDENTS!

LPB Almost every day on the news, you'll hear about a young person in trouble -- often the students who do exceptionally well in the classroom or make a huge difference in their community do not receive the recognition they deserve. That’s why LPB and the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge created the Louisiana Young Heroes Awards. Now in its 18th year, the awards honor students in grades 7-12 who have excelled in the classroom, have served their community or have shown great courage in overcoming adversity in their own lives.

Nominations are now being taken for the 2013 Louisiana Young Heroes Awards. Students must be enrolled in a Louisiana school or home-schooled and cannot be older than 19 years of age.

Some of our previous Young Heroes have overcome physical handicaps or personal tragedies, helped others after hurricanes, cared for family members, started charitable foundations, and even saved lives. You can read profiles and see videos of previous years' Young Heroes on our website.

Nomination forms can be downloaded from the LPB website or submitted through the online form. Letters of recognition and other supporting materials should be sent to support the nomination. Students who have been nominated in past years may be re-nominated for this year’s awards. Previous winners are not eligible. The deadline for entries is Friday, February 8, 2013. Winners will be announced on LPB on Friday, March 1, 2013.

Louisiana Young Heroes Day will be April 17, 2013. The Young Heroes will be treated to a day full of activities including lunch on the grounds of the Governor’s Mansion. The day will culminate in a banquet that night in Baton Rouge.

The awards are co-presented by the Baton Rouge Rotary Club and underwritten by ExxonMobil.
