ONE MONTH LEFT TO NOMINATION AN INSPIRATIONAL STUDENT!
We hear too much about young people who get in trouble -- the students who do exceptionally well in the classroom or make a huge difference in their community do not receive the recognition they deserve. That’s why LPB and the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge created the Louisiana Young Heroes Awards. Now in its 18th year, the awards honor students in grades 7-12 who have excelled in the classroom, have served their community or have shown great courage in overcoming adversity in their own lives. In other words, these young people are an inspiration to those around them.
DO YOU KNOW A BUDDING YOUNG AUTHOR?
Starting today through April 6, 2013, children in the LPB viewing areas can submit their entries to the PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest. LPB will select local winners and award prizes including in the spring of 2013. The local winners will be featured on LPB’s website.
ELMO WILL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!
When Elmo gets Abby Cadabby’s magic wand, Sesame Street becomes a nonstop, all-singing, all-dancing musical montage! Learn why it feels good to sing a song, but why it feels good to stop, too! What will Elmo learn about the power of musical magic? Join the conga line of fun to find out!
