PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS:

(Lark Rise to Candleford premieres Thursday night at 9 on LPB)

Tonight at 8PM, the pickers of Market Warriors will be in Springfield, Ohio. Which one will be the winner in the search for cast iron? LPB will have an encore of that episode at 10PM.

Battles galore Tuesday night! At 7, explore Death & The Civil War from American Experience. At 9, FRONTLINE focuses on The Battle for Syria.

Wednesday night, NOVA will be making stuff! At 8, David Pogue will look at the ways in which nature and science work toward Making Stuff Stronger. Then at 9, take a tour of the latest in high-powered nano-circuits and micro-robots in Making Stuff Smaller.

We know a lot of our viewers love British drama, so Thursday night, see the premiere episode of Lark Rise to Candleford at 9PM. In this episode, Laura Timmons leaves Lark Rise to start her first job at the post office in the town of Candleford.

Friday night starts with all the important news that affects residents of our state on Louisiana: The State We're In at 7PM. At 9, see the opening-night gala at the Smith Center for Performing Arts in Las Vegas featuring Joshua Bell, John Fogerty, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris, Jennifer Hudson, Carole King, Martina McBride, Pat Monahan, Willie Nelson, Arturo Sandoval and Mavis Staples.

Saturdays mean a night of great British programs on LPB! Two full hours of British comedies start at 7PM. At 9 on Primeval, the team has to help a creature that comes through the anomaly to try to escape from a 14th century knight. At 10, Doctor Who follows a Time Lord distress signal to a mysterious asteroid in a Bubble Universe.

Sunday night, on Broadway or Bust, this episode at New York's Minskoff Theatre is the final act and crowning highlight of the miniseries - the judges will choose the two winners. At 8, on Masterpiece, follow Wallander's search for a serial arsonist, as well as his estranged daughter's missing friend.

LPB ART ROCKS! THIS FRIDAY

LPB You are invited to enjoy a free evening of art, music, and more for LPB Art Rocks! this Friday, September 21st from 5:30 to 8:30PM at the LPB Studios, 7733 Perkins Road in Baton Rouge. Get a firsthand look at the art that will be available in the LPB Art & Travel Auction - and get a chance to bid or buy it on the spot at a discounted price!

The 2012 LPB Art & Travel Auction airs live on LPB on Thursday, October 25th from 7 to 10PM. WLAE in New Orleans will join in from 8 to 10PM.

AMERICAN GRADUATE DAY ON LPB

LPB Saturday is a special day on LPB and public television stations around the country. It is American Graduate Day from noon to 7PM. This broadcast and outreach event is dedicated to engaging our country around the dropout crisis with celebrity guests, relevant spokespeople , and compelling stories from the students themselves. Each half hour with feature a 23-minute segment about a national organization working to keep kids on track and in schools.

SEE HUMAN NATURE IN CONCERT THIS SATURDAY!

LPB LPB has tickets to see the dynamic Australian pop vocal group, Human Nature, at L’Auberge Casino & Hotel in Baton Rouge on Saturday, September 22nd at 8PM! A $35 contribution to Friends of LPB gets you one ticket in preferred seating AND a meet & greet pass! LPB is the only place you can get passes to meet the guys backstage!!!

TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO GET TOMMY EMMANUEL TICKETS!

LPB Australian guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel is coming back to Baton Rouge and you can see him in concert! Tommy will be performing at Istrouma Baptist Church on Friday, September 28th at 7:30PM.

A $75 contribution to Friends of LPB includes one ticket in the first ten rows and a chance to meet Tommy, plus receive an autographed Tommy Emmanuel CD! For more information, go to the Friends of LPB Box Office.

ELMO WILL MAKE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC IN LAFAYETTE!

LPB Elmo Makes Music is coming to the CajunDome in Lafayette! Jenny, an enthusiastic new music teacher, arrives on Sesame Street only to discover that her instruments are missing. Jenny’s new Muppet friends quickly come to the rescue and discover ‘instruments’ they never knew existed…rubber duckies, trash can lids and even cookie jars. Elmo and friends teach children that everyone can make and enjoy beautiful music together.

A $35 contribution to LPB gets you includes one gold circle seat ticket and a VIP meet & greet pass. A $25 contribution includes one gold circle seat ticket. The concert is Saturday, November 3rd at 10:30 a.m. - the meet and greet with Elmo will be at 9:30 a.m. For more information, go to the Friends of LPB Box Office.

LPB Under the Streetlamp is an electrifying concert of classic hits from the recent leading cast members of the Tony-Award winning musical, Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. These four charismatic and uniquely talented singers deliver the sounds of the sixties in an evening of unforgettable entertainment. LPB is giving you the opportunity to see Under the Streetlamp in concert on Wednesday, December 26th at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre in New Orleans!
