Storytelling with J. J. & Friends is a series of ten 90-second stories written and told by Dr. Janie Spaht Gill. Dr. Gill has written over 60 stories for children in pre-kindergarten through second grade. The bright and colorful characters in the stories were developed to encourage parents to read with their children, and show children how much fun reading can be. The characters are acted out by Dr. Gill, her husband, Richard Gill, plus a cast of adorable children: Molly Briggs, Willie Briggs, Amelia Durbin, Brewster Durbin, Lanie Grace Everett, Paige Sias, Peyton Sias and Helen Valadié. Teachers can use the series with young students as a tool to introduce reading. The stories are geared toward children from 4 to 7-years of age, and each one meets a particular Grade-Level Expectation from the Louisiana Department of Education. You and your children or students can enjoy the stories over and over again – anytime of the day!
Dr. Janie Spaht Gill is a teacher, writer, performance artist, and now an LPB personality named “J J” – as in the Storytelling with J J & Friends series. Click here to learn more about JJ!
