Mr. Barrett is the managing General Partner of BVM Capital, which is the management company for venture funds: Louisiana Ventures, LP and Themelios Ventures, LP. He is a Co-founder of VC Experts, Inc. and is active in the strategic direction of the company.
Previously, he worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide to senior U.S. Senator, J. Bennett Johnston, where he specialized in risk assessment and regulatory reform. He has been an adviser to or investor in over twenty early-stage privately held companies. Mr. Barrett was featured in a video for Louisiana Economic Development.
He served as an appointed Commissioner of the statewide Louisiana Airport Authority from 2005-2008. In 2007, he was named to Governor Jindal's Small Business and Entrepreneurship transition team. Mr. Barrett currently is a member of state Committee of 100.
Mr. Barrett sits on the Advisory Board of Hope for New York, an umbrella organization of thirty Christian charities associated with Redeemer Presbyterian Church that promotes volunteerism in New York. He is head of its due diligence committee.
Mr. Barrett received a masters degree in taxation from New York University School of Law.
