Gwen Hamilton spearheads education initiatives and the project to rebuild Old South Baton Rouge for the Baton Rouge Area Foundation. She has served as Secretary for the Department of Social Services and as both Executive Director of the Children's Cabinet and Deputy Education Policy Advisor under Governor Mike Foster.
Gwen is a board member of the Louisiana Board of Ethics, Metro YMCA, Academic Distinction Fund and Advance Baton Rouge, among others.
A native of Baton Rouge, Gwen holds a degree in Secondary Education from Southern University, and she has devoted the vast majority of her career to developing and implementing policies that advance social and educational opportunities for Baton Rouge youth.
