Old favorites like Bob Dylan and Celtic Woman are joined by newcomer Ethan Bortnick for Festival 2014 in March. The membership campaign will run from March 1-23 with the proceeds going to create and purchase the programming which airs throughout the year on the Louisiana Public Broadcasting network.
Bob Dylan and his friends celebrated the 30th anniversary of his first album in 1992 with a very special concert. It airs Friday, March 7 at 9PM.
Celtic Woman (Sunday, March 9 at 7PM) celebrates their Irish heritage with a new special called Emerald. On Monday, March 10 at 7PM, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Dr. John, Percy Sledge were among the performers for the inauguration of President George Bush in 1989. This long lost special is called A Celebration of Blues & Soul.
Titanic: Band of Courage (Tuesday, March 11 at 7PM) tells the story of the eight musicians who continued to play as the Titanic sank.
On Wednesday, March 12 at 7, 12-year-old pianist and singer Ethan Bortnick takes the stage backed by a 50-piece orchestra.
Heartbeat of Home (Sunday, March 16 at 7PM) is a new dance extravaganza special from the people who created “Riverdance.”
If you missed the first two episodes of Antiques Roadshow Baton Rouge, LPB will air them again on Monday, March 17 starting at 7PM. The third and final episode of the Baton Rouge Roadshow episodes will premiere on March 24 at 7PM.
There will also be a new episode of LPB’s six-part series Alive! In America’s Delta on Tuesday, March 18 at 7PM. called Endangered in the Gulf. Five of the world's seven endangered sea turtle species rely on habitat in the Gulf of Mexico. Other Gulf marine species like the West Indian Manatee, the Gulf Sturgeon, and Sperm and Right Whales are also endangered. Birds such as the Piping Plover and the Least Tern face tremendous threats. Other Gulf mammals, such as dolphins, need special protection and monitoring to remain healthy, especially following the BP oil spill.
