Chemical Plant Explosion in Geismar
State Police blocked off an area within a two mile radius after an explosion Thursday at the Williams Olephins Plant in Geismar, just south of Baton Rouge. The company produces about 1.3 billion pounds ethylene and 90 million pounds of polymer grade propylene each year. We will have an update.
The Voting Rights Act of 1965
The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on a major section of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 is due this month. It could have a significant impact on whether states that currently must get federal approval before making any changes to election or voting laws will have to continue to do so. Shauna Sanford will have a look at the issue before the Court.
National WWII Museum Opens US Freedom Pavilion
