Improving Teacher Quality and Increasing Student Achievement
Louisiana Public Broadcasting through PBS Teacherline brings comprehensive, online professional development to Louisiana educators. TeacherLine courses have been created through the collaborative efforts of some of the nation's leading educational organizations, including the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and the National Council for the Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). Our video-rich, learn-by-doing courses are a combination of content and technology, accessible via the Internet, that provide teachers with the vision, strategies, and resources needed to make dynamic use of classroom technology.
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires highly qualified teachers. PBS TeacherLine of Louisiana is here to assist teachers in meeting their goals and keep them informed of current pedagogy. All courses are designed to be immediately applicable to the classroom, and our facilitators ensure that courses are presented with both the TEKS standards and TAKS tests in mind.
