IN-STUDIO VISITS FROM AARON NEVILLE & TWO MEMBERS OF CELTIC THUNDER

PLUS A DOWNTON ABBEY SERIES THREE MARATHON HIGHLIGHT THE SECOND HALF OF LPB’S MARCH MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN

The second week of LPB’s Festival 2013 membership drive kicks into high gear on Thursday, March 14 at 7PM with a visit from Grammy-winner and New Orleans native Aaron Neville. Aaron will introduce his new special Doo Wop: My True Story. His first special includes special guests Paul Simon and Joan Osborne.

Another Louisiana Legend is profiled on Wednesday, March 13 at 7PM when LPB has an encore showing of Lindy Boggs: Steel and Velvet, a biography of the nine-term Congresswoman and former Ambassador to the Vatican.

On March 17 at 7PM, LPB will have a special encore performance of the New Year’s Eve special Live From Lincoln Center One Singular Celebration: Celebrating Marvin Hamlisch featuring the music of the Oscar, Emmy and Tony-winning composer of “The Way We Were” and music for 40 films and eight Broadway musicals. The special was hosted by Tony and Grammy-winner Audra McDonald and features performances by Josh Groban and Megan Hilty of “Smash.” One of the thank you gifts will be tickets to McDonald’s May 17 performance with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra at the River Center Theatre for the Performing Arts.

On March 19 at 7PM, George Donaldson and Ryan Kelly from the group Celtic Thunder will visit LPB to talk about their new special Mythology and explain how to get tickets to their November concert in New Orleans. The new special includes Irish and Folk favorites from their album of the same name.

If you missed any of Season Three of the Emmy-winning Downton Abbey, here’s your chance to get caught up. LPB will be running a Downton Abbey marathon on Sunday, March 24 from 9:30AM until 8PM featuring all seven of this year’s episodes. Relive the highs and lows of the acclaimed series or just tune-in to hear Academy Award-winners Maggie Smith and Shirley MacLaine trade insults with each other.
