LPB’S SUNSHINE BY THE STARS: CELEBRATING LOUISIANA MUSIC WINS A 2013 NETA AWARD »»»

  • An all-star lineup of Louisiana musicians perform “You Are My Sunshine.”
LPB’S Sunshine by the Stars: Celebrating Louisiana Music has won the National Educational Telecommunications Association’ s 2013 Award as Best Production of a Performance.

As part of the Louisiana Year of Music, LPB worked with the Lt. Governor’s Office and program host and performer Harry Connick, Jr. to create the show which features an all-star lineup of Louisiana musicians performing that timeless classic and state song “You Are My Sunshine.” Besides Connick, performers include Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Famers Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Guy and Allen Toussaint, the Marsalis Family, Country superstar Tim McGraw, Trombone Shorty, and Buckwheat Zydeco and many more.

Produced by LPB’s Ben Williams, Donald Ray Washington, Tika Laudun and Christina Melton, Sunshine by the Stars will be fed by PBS to stations around the country this November.
