Ruston High science teacher Emile Frey has been selected as a third place winner in the 2012 Teacher Innovator Awards! by PBS Learning Media and the Henry Ford Foundation. Frey is one of 30 winners in the nationwide contest.
The awards honor teachers who are using digital media in new and unique ways in key subject areas like the arts, math reading, science and social studies. The winners were selected on the basis of videos or written essays they submitted.
As part of his project, Emile had the students in his class design a roller coaster out of recyclable materials that a marble could roll down in 20 seconds.
Frey will receive a pen and a gift bag from PBS and the Henry Ford Foundation along with gifts from LPB.
