More than 300 supporters of Louisiana Public Broadcasting showed up at the Louisiana State Capitol on Monday, June 15 for LPB Day at the Capitol.
There were special appearances by Clifford the Big Red Dog, Lionel from Between the Lions and Duck from WordWorld along with information about LPB programs and educational initiatives.
LPB President Beth Courtney emceed the press conference that kicked off the event. There were also speeches of support from Corporation for Public Broadcasting Vice-President for Education and Children’s Content Dr. Susan Zelman, Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne and famed Louisiana Cajun and Creole Chef John Folse, the host of 12 series of LPB’s A Taste of Louisiana with Chef John Folse & Company.
The purpose of the event was to increase awareness of the services provided by the six-station state network among the members of the Louisiana Legislature.
