Louisiana’s top health secretary testified before Congress this week. Congressman Bill Cassidy joins Shauna Sanford from Washington D.C. to discuss the state’s health care problems and whether Democrats and Republicans will be able to strike a deal in order to avoid the impending fiscal cliff. Would a national identification card improve safety at airports and federal buildings? This week we find out if the REAL ID Act will go into effect in January 2013. Louisiana is one of seven states that is not in compliance with a measure some say could prevent terrorist attacks. At an age when their peers are just starting college, two teens have just earned their bachelor's degrees. Southern Education Desk reporter Sue Lincoln has the story on Southern University's youngest-ever graduates. And Charlie Whinham continues his Christmas Journey. This week he travels to Lafayette for Christmas at Acadian Village.
