Phelps Correctional Center Closure
LSWI3602 - September 21, 2012
/
Over 250 people will lose their job in southwest Louisiana this November. Last Friday, the Jindal Administration announced the closing of the C. Paul Phelps Correctional Facility in DeQuincy. While the Governor says the move will save the state over $12 million dollars next fiscal year, many are upset. Many local officials say the news came as a complete surprise, and residents there say they deserve better.
