Redefining State Retirement
LSWI3528 - March 23, 2012
/

Last year, employer contributions for public pensions cost Louisiana taxpayers $1.78 billion. This amount is projected to grow annually as the state tries to drive down the $18.5 billion deficit of the state retirement systems. Can the state retirement pension systems be revamped while keeping the promise to those who have provided years of public service? We preview of this month’s Louisiana Public Square on “Redefining State Retirement.” Louisiana Public Square airs Wednesday, March 28th at 7 p.m. on LPB.
