Seven Years Later - Still Recovering From Rita
LSW3606 - September 28, 2012
/
This week marks the seven-year anniversary of Hurricane Rita. The eye of the Category 3 hurricane hit Johnson’s Bayou on September 24th, 2005, and left a path of destruction across southwest Louisiana. Hurricane Katrina had hit three weeks earlier and caught most of the national headlines, but Rita was actually more powerful than Katrina. Shauna Sanford traveled to Cameron Parish to find out how the region is recovering.
